THE ROLE – Service Technician
We are looking for a positive, self-motivated, friendly person who is ready to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY
The service technician is responsible for performing inspections, dayworks and sales.
JOB DUTIES
- Schedule and perform sprinkler, backflow sprinkler, alarm and extinguisher inspections in all areas we work in. This includes but is not limited to wet, dry, antifreeze, foam systems, fire pumps, and fm-200 inspections
- Complete inspections monthly by their due date by efficiently scheduling inspections due in a specific area at the same time, eliminating multiple trips and keeping Rapid Fire prices to our customers competitive
- Perform repairs of the deficiencies
- Ensure work complies with codes and permits
- Sell inspections at the job final testing
- Grow area inspections numbers by returning to completed jobs and sell our service package
- Schedule and perform Dayworks. Work will range from putting on escutcheons to rebuilding a fire pump
- Have flexibility in your workday. This position requires flexibility, often beginning one thing and the ability to transition into several different tasks throughout the day.
- Daily complete and submit work order sheets of work performed along with owner representative signatures stating work has been complete
- Maintain a positive attitude and work well with others
- Develop positive and ongoing relationship with customers. Have a servant mentality with customers. We are here to serve them. This is our top priority
- Investigate any deficiencies found during an inspection
- Follow up on quotes
- Educate the owner on the current condition of their system and recommend any desired improvements
- Conduct owner’s training set by the Service Department and train customers on the basic operation of their system
- Present customers with an inspections contract
- Focus on expanding customer cliental on a daily basis
- Obtain new leads for new customers as well as provide quotations for inspections to new and existing customers
- Expected to be involved in the pricing approach to Inspection and Service accounts
- Responsible for fielding service calls in your area. This includes “on call” hours which are after the normal business hours of operation
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to quickly learn scheduling and inspections software
- Organized and self-motivated
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Good communication skills, oral and written
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Willing to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position does require lifting of heavy objects, walking and standing for long periods of time, climbing and descending ladders/steps and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Long hours of traveling will most likely be encountered.
