Mark Winder Wins Gold

The winner of the 2010 Robert McCullough AFSA Training for Excellence Award was Mark Winder, Rapid Fire Protection, Inc., Rapid City, S.D.. In addition to his first place plaque, Winder won $5,000 and the opportunity to represent AFSA at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) 2011 Craft Championship in San Antonio, Texas. Mark was chosen among seven other finalists to represent the AFSA in 2010.

Upon receiving the award, Winder began by thanking AFSA for the unique opportunity and describing their experiences throughout the week. He closed by thanking all the apprentices for their competitive spirit and eagerness to become better at their jobs.

AFSA thanks all of the fire sprinkler contractors who entered their apprentices in the 2010 National Apprentice Competition, encouraging these trainees to take the first written exam, and then supporting the time away from work for the seven finalists to compete at the convention.
